🎙️ The Doctor Is In: What if our hands know more than our brains do?

Hey Reader,

Happy Solstice! With the official start of summer, I'm feeling a pull towards a different kind of creative play—the kind you can touch. More on that in this week's letter.

Dear Creativity,

Summer is here. It’s the season to play, test, and expand. While my business is built around play, I’m feeling a call to return to a different kind, the kind where my hands are moving, where I can feel you through touch.

I want to feel my fingers rolling hot glue, to see what happens when paint hits paper, or I feel the unexpected poke of wire on my fingertip. I want to remember what it feels like to be a maker, a tinkerer. To build and create just for the joy of it.

This is how we first met, isn't it? As kids, before the overthinking started. When we trusted our hands to lead the way.

I think we have it backwards sometimes. We try to think our way into new ideas when maybe we should be making our way into them hand-in-hand with you, Creativity.

What could we all build this summer if we just let our hands do the talking?

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail 💛

Hey Reader, Three years into The Innovation Doctor, I’ve been looking back at the seed that started it all. It wasn't a straight line. Dear Creativity, I don't think there was ever a time we weren't in conversation. But looking back, our partnership has had distinct seasons. When I first took the brave step of leaving...

Hey Reader, The work I'm doing on my new zine has unlocked something profound—a memory that has reshaped my entire business. I'm excited to share it with you in this week's letter from the studio. Practicing setting up my cameras in my Creative Studio/Home Office to go live on YouTube. Dear Creativity, This is it. For weeks, I’ve been untangling signals, evolving the vibe I want to bring to the world. It all started with a simple idea for a zine. Working on this little paper book, I realized...

Hey Reader, I'm in the middle of running my Next Move Incubator, and this week, my own participants taught me a powerful lesson about my own next idea. More in this week's letter. Cover page of my 8-page zine lo-fi prototype in progress. Dear Creativity, Three weeks into my incubator, it was time for me to move on my own idea: a polished digital zine, a small step toward a future book. I was ready to dive deep. And then, I was humbled. The participants in my own program encouraged me to move...
