🎙️ Are you honoring the pause?

Hey Reader,

Lately, on my morning walks, I've found myself drawn back into an old practice: macro photography. It's coinciding with a book I'm reading and a challenge I'm doing, and all signs are pointing to one powerful idea. More in this week's lab notes.

Dear Creativity,

On my morning walks, I've found myself getting closer to the world again, which means my photo gallery on my cell phone is filling up with macro shots. It happens to be at the same time I'm in a creativity challenge about pausing to create for 10 minutes a day.

Both things have me thinking about the spaces in between. The challenge says the 10 minutes don't have to be consecutive. It’s a reminder that the pause matters. The moments we step away are just as important as the moments we are "on."

It makes me wonder about the ideas we're trying to force. What if they just need a pause? A moment to breathe so that when we return, they can show us what they're meant to become next.

Perhaps I don't need to post all these new photos. Maybe the point isn't the output. Maybe the point is just to honor the pause itself and see how it informs my next move. This picture doesn't feel like the macro photography of my past; it feels like the macro photography of my present. It's different because I'm different.

What genius is waiting for us in the spaces we create between the work?

Innovatively yours,
Dr. Abigail 💛

For weeks, I’ve been untangling signals, evolving the vibe I want to bring to the world. It all started with a simple idea for a zine. Working on this little paper book, I realized...

Hey Reader, I'm in the middle of running my Next Move Incubator, and this week, my own participants taught me a powerful lesson about my own next idea. More in this week's letter. Dear Creativity, Three weeks into my incubator, it was time for me to move on my own idea: a polished digital zine, a small step toward a future book. I was ready to dive deep. And then, I was humbled. The participants in my own program encouraged me to move...
