Hey Reader, I was all geared up to host a live play experience in my community this week... and it turned into something completely different. I wrote about the beautiful lesson I learned from a party for one. Dear Creativity, Last week, I planned a "Pop-Up Play Lab" for my community, a delightful hour of coloring and conversation. I was so excited. And then, no one was able to make it. For a moment, I was disappointed. But then, I put on some lo-fi tunes, opened my new marker set, and decided to have a party for one. It turned into a restful, meditative play experience. An adventure with coloring pages, six-word stories, and meditative patterns. It was a powerful reminder that you always find your way into the room, Creativity, even if it's a detour from what was planned. The party I got wasn't the one I had scheduled, but it was exactly the one I needed. What masterpieces are waiting for us in the quiet moments after our best-laid plans fall apart? Eventually, a new season arrived, and I gave them away. Over the years, other pens and markers have come and gone. Some stay,...
Hey Reader, I was stuck in a conference hotel for a week in New Orleans. On my last day, I popped into a museum next door for a quick tourist experience. What I found was a masterclass in creativity and the entire philosophy of my brand, hiding in plain sight. More in this week's letter. The Lab at The Sazerac House (New Orleans, LA) Dear Creativity, After days under the fluorescent lights of a conference hotel, I found you in the most unexpected place: a spirits museum. The Sazerac House in...
Hey Reader, After a long day of travel yesterday, I was met with an unexpected gift. It's the theme of this week's letter to Creativity. New Orleans, Louisiana Dear Creativity, There are days when my mind is tired, and all I want to do is lie in bed and rest. Yesterday was one of those days. After long hours of travel, I arrived in a strange new place with a long evening of tasks still ahead of me. And yet, you showed up. You showed up with the biggest evening smile, a sunset that filled the...
