Hey Reader, I'm planning a coloring session in my community, and it has me thinking about the tools we use and the creative seasons we're in—more on that in this week's letter. Dear Creativity, Seven years ago, I was obsessed with these Staedtler markers/pens. They were everything to me—my favorite tool for journaling and making marks. Eventually, a new season arrived, and I gave them away. Over the years, other pens and markers have come and gone. Some stay, like old friends. Others were just for a season. It's fun to think about the many ways you introduce a new pen to me. Sometimes I get curious when I see someone else using it, or it comes as a recommendation. Sometimes you just put them right in front of me at an art supply store. No matter the introduction, I always have fun experimenting and learning how to incorporate them into my practice. It’s much like how we get our ideas, isn't it? They arrive with such excitement. For a season, one idea can feel like the only thing that matters. But then, to make space for something new, we have to let it go gently. It's a beautiful reminder that you will always bring new color into our lives, in whatever form is needed for the season we're in. What creative tools—or ideas—is it time for us to lovingly release to make space for what's next? Innovatively yours, “The Doctor Is In” is the official weekly broadcast of The Innovation Doctor. Hey Reader, I was stuck in a conference hotel for a week in New Orleans. On my last day, I popped into a museum next door for a quick tourist experience.
